Coazzolo - The Big Bench
A place of "worship"
The Big Bench was born from a fruitful intuition of the American artist Chris Bangle. An automotive designer for Fiat and Bmw, Bangle moved to Clavesana, in the western Langhe, where, in 2010, he created the Big Bench Community Project, the colorful benches in giant format installed on the most spectacular viewpoints of Piedmont. Simplicity, carelessness, joy of life and a great desire to reclaim the landscape, accessible through the immediacy of a bench that looks at the horizon: started quietly, the Big Bench Project has met with an overwhelming success. The benches have redesigned the tourist circuits of the Langhe, imposing themselves as places of worship for fans of the views.
The Big Bench of Coazzolo, installed in 2016, is a gift of Michele Chiarlo, wine producer of Castelnuovo Calcea, patron of Monferrato and sincere lover of land art.
